School supplies
4th grade
Mrs. Williams’ class
In an effort to keep things as sanitary and safe as possible, as well as promoting organization, responsibility, independence, and in order to utilize flexible seating choices, students need their OWN supplies. I do not have a preference about the color or type of folder/notebook, as long as it does not become a distraction.
For my 4th grade classes (ELA and Science), students will need:
*1 five-subject notebook (ELA)
*2 packs of loose leaf paper (college ruled)
* 1 notebook (science)
*1 pencil case/crayon box (preferably with a zipper or a deep pocket- we keep a lot in there and move around a lot!)
*2 sets of pencils (regular, fancy, or mechanical- doesn’t matter; just can’t be a distraction)
*extra pencil cap erasers (if you need them)
*1 red pen
*1 pack of markers or crayons (no colored pencils)
*at least one expo marker
*1 yellow highlighter
*headphones/earbuds (Berkley gives each student 1 pair; some kids prefer their own)
Optional/helpful classroom supplies:
*Clorox wipes
*box of tissues
*mini bottle of hand sanitizer (optional)
* Teacher Amazon Wishlist

Since I have a flexible seating classroom, students will keep their pencil case with them at ALL times. That way, if students are on a carpet space, a yoga ball, a high top table, or anywhere else, they will have all their items with them at all times.

One big change in 4th grade is we are departmentalized and we switch classes once a day. Having their own supplies gives students a sense of ownership, responsibility, and preparedness. I do not have any stipulations on design or type as long as it does not become a distraction :)
