If your child has earned a D or F for math or science in quarters 1-3 of the school year, you may request a grade recovery packet. Students will complete the grade recovery packet AT HOME to practice the skills that they failed/struggled with throughout the quarter. Upon completion of this packet, students will turn the packet into the teacher by the DUE DATE listed on the packet (no exceptions). After students have completed the packet and turned it in to Mrs. Williams, the student must take assessments relating to the content that they failed/struggled with to show that they can individually complete the work without assistance. If the student earns a 75% or higher on the assessments, their grade is then recovered to a C. Please note that the grade recovery packet is NOT for a grade, it is to practice the missed and failed concepts prior to being reassessed on those standards. Just because a student completes the grade recovery packet, does NOT mean their grade is recovered, they must pass the assessments.
Please also note that the grade recovery option is NOT mandatory. . . you may choose to keep the grades your child earned. The grade recovery option is an attempt to get your child on grade level with the standards that they missed during the quarter.
